Ószandec (Stary Sącz) has won our hearts!

On Friday, we welcomed a special group: visitors from the town of Stary Sącz in Poland. With a population of about 9,000, is famous for its medieval old town and the Poor Clare convent (founded by Saint Kinga, daughter of King Béla IV).

The group of 22 guests was exceptionally curious, open, and friendly. Once again, the old saying proved true: “Polak, Hungarian—two cousins, to the sword and to the glass.” (”Polish, Hungarian—two good friends, fighting together and drinking wine together.”) At the end of their visit, our Polish friends bid us farewell with church hymns in an intimate, heartfelt atmosphere— creating unforgettable moments for all of us.
